Every morning, as soon as the sun peeks through my window, Bailey the beagle is there—tail thumping against the bed frame, nose nudging my cheek. There’s no such thing as sleeping in with a beagle in the house! Before I’ve even had my coffee, Bailey is ready for her first adventure of the day: our ritual walk around the block, where every scent is a new story and every squirrel is (almost) catchable.
Breakfast is a hilarious affair. Bailey insists on sitting beside me, ears perked and eyes wide, hoping for a stray toast crumb. Her favorite treat? A slice of banana—if I’m not quick, she’ll leap up and snatch it before it hits her bowl!
The rest of our day is a mix of cozy snuggles, impromptu zoomies across the living room, and the occasional mischievous moment (like the time she unrolled an entire toilet paper roll and paraded it through the hallway). Through it all, Bailey reminds me to find joy in the little things—whether it’s a wagging tail or a warm cuddle on a rainy afternoon.
Life with a beagle is never dull, sometimes chaotic, but always filled with laughter and love. If you’ve ever shared your home with a beagle, you know: their hearts (and their noses) lead the way to the happiest days.
